Thora Arnorsdottir is a renowned icelander media personality and documentary film producer. Currently, she is the managing editor of Kveikur, Iceland’s only investigative journalism TV- program, at the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, and also founder and owner of Hugveitan, a documentary production company.

She has won the “TV-Personality of the Year”- award in Iceland multiple times and was a candidate in the presidential elections in 2012, challenging the incumbent of 16 years. She didn’t win, but was a strong runner up with a third of the votes. Her candidacy sparked a fierce gender debate as she was pregnant with her third child and gave birth to her daughter during the campaign.
